Rock-steady plans for every shoot
For YouTubers who run a channel as a business: ChatGPT lays out the hook, the chapters, the B-roll, the thumbnail ideas and publish day on one Storyflow board your editor opens.

Creatives working for these brands already got early access
Watch a real project come together, from a blank board to a finished plan, clicked through step by step.
Pick a board to see what you can build, then let AI fill it in. Every template is a real, editable starting point on the same infinite canvas.

Pull the brief, script, shot list, and moodboard into one pre-production hub so the whole shoot is planned in one place.
Yes, ChatGPT can plan a YouTube video: give it the idea, the viewer and the length, and it writes the promise, the hook, a timed outline, the B-roll each part needs, thumbnail ideas and a checklist for publish day. Storyflow is an AI visual workspace that plans a YouTube video on one infinite canvas: the hook, the chapters, the B-roll list, the thumbnail ideas and the publish checklist side by side, on a board your editor opens too. With the Storyflow plugin installed, ChatGPT builds that plan on the video's board itself, and because it runs on ChatGPT's own model, it spends no Storyflow AI credits.
ChatGPT on its own is a strong planning partner. It gives you fifteen titles and argues for two, writes the first 30 seconds three ways, times the outline and turns each part into a list of shots. What it cannot do alone is keep that plan where you film and edit from. The outline goes into a doc, the B-roll into your phone's notes, the thumbnail ideas into a sketchbook, and the editor gets a message. By publish day nobody is sure which title won or whether the chapter times were written down.
Install the plugin and ask for the plan on the video's board. ChatGPT builds a column for each part: the promise and the title options, the hook as the words you will say, the chapters with a time on each, the B-roll as a to-do list per chapter, the thumbnail ideas as cards, and the publish checklist. The script goes in a Storyflow document once the outline holds. If last month's analytics export is on the board as a CSV, ChatGPT reads it first, so the plan starts from what your viewers watched. For the shoot, ask for the B-roll as shot cards: up to 60 in one row, each with an empty frame for a reference still.
An example to copy. Field Notes is a fictional camping gear channel run by one creator and a freelance editor. The video is "I slept outside for 7 nights on a $40 sleeping pad", planned at 12 minutes. The hook and the setup take 2 minutes, seven nights at 1 minute 15 each take 8 minutes 45, the verdict takes 1 minute and the end screen 15 seconds: 2:00, 8:45, 1:00 and 0:15 make 12:00. That is nine chapters: the opening, one per night and the verdict. The B-roll list has three shots a night plus four for the opening and the verdict, so 25 shots. Three thumbnail ideas: the pad on frost at dawn, the creator's face at 3 a.m., and the $40 price tag beside a $200 pad. The publish checklist has nine lines.
A plan that survives the edit answers six questions before anyone films. What does the viewer get, in one sentence, that the title and the thumbnail both promise? What are the first 30 seconds, word for word? Where are the chapters, with a time on each? What B-roll does each chapter need, counted, because B-roll nobody listed is B-roll the editor will not have? Which thumbnail ideas will you shoot, each written as one picture and four words at most? And what has to happen on publish day? Write the thumbnail words before the script. If the promise does not fit in four words over one picture, the idea is not sharp yet.
Publish day has its own list: the title, the thumbnail, the description with the chapter times, the tags, the end screen, the cards, a pinned comment, the playlist and the Shorts cut from the video. Now the limits. Storyflow does not upload, schedule or show analytics: YouTube Studio uploads, and vidIQ, in ChatGPT's plugin directory, reads channel numbers. ChatGPT cannot see the pictures on the board, so it cannot judge a thumbnail. Through the plugin it cannot delete a card or make pictures, and Storyflow has no calendar grid: upload dates sit in a table, in the order the rows were written.
Ultra fast from brief to board
The first plan takes the longest. The next one starts from the board the first one left behind.
01
Open the Storyflow listing in ChatGPT's plugin directory and select Install plugin. Sign in to Storyflow when asked, then choose which projects ChatGPT may use.
02
In a ChatGPT chat, type @, pick Storyflow and give it the idea, the length and the upload day. For example: "12-minute video, seven nights on a $40 sleeping pad, uploads Sunday. Plan it on the Field Notes board: hook, chapters with times, B-roll per chapter, three thumbnail ideas and a publish checklist."
03
A column appears for each part of the plan. Drag the title you want to the top, cut the weak hooks, or tell ChatGPT which card to rewrite and it edits that card where it sits. Ask for the script as a document once the chapters hold.
04
Invite your editor to the board and tick the B-roll as you shoot. On publish day, work down the checklist: the title, the thumbnail, the description with chapters, the end screen and the pinned comment.
ChatGPT writes the plan. Storyflow keeps it where you and your editor both work.

The plan
The video's columns sit on the channel's board, next to who the channel is for and what it is trying to grow. A video that serves none of it shows up before you film it.
See the YouTube video planner →
The script
Once the chapters hold, ask for the script. ChatGPT writes it as a Storyflow document part by part, or as one column per beat with the voice-over, the words on screen and the shots.
See video scripts with ChatGPT →
The B-roll
Ask for the B-roll as shot cards and each shot becomes a column with an empty frame, a subject line with tags, a checklist and the gear, joined by arrows in order. The editor knows what is coming before the drive arrives.
See shot lists with ChatGPT →
Publish day
The publish checklist is a to-do card with a line for every step, from the description's chapter times to the Shorts. It sits beside the stages each video moves through, so nothing waits on someone's memory.
See the YouTube content pipeline →The plugin runs on ChatGPT's own model and your ChatGPT plan, so a plan built through it uses no Storyflow AI credits. A free Storyflow account that a paid member invited can make 25 plugin actions a week, reset each Monday (UTC); every read and every change counts as one. Plus, Pro and Max have no weekly limit. Storyflow is paid-only during early access, from $7.99 a month billed annually ($9.99 monthly), and the editor you invite to the board joins free.

Built for people with taste
ChatGPT plans well. The trouble is the plan has to survive filming, the edit and publish day.

The packaging
The promise written first: The first column holds one sentence: what the viewer gets. Every title option and thumbnail idea sits under it, so the ones that break the promise are easy to cut.
Title options as cards: Fifteen titles land as fifteen cards. Drag the three you like to the top and ask ChatGPT why each might win; the rest stay for the next video.
Thumbnail ideas you can shoot: Each idea is a card with one picture and four words at most. The creator shoots the frames for the winners on filming day, not the night before upload.
Reference pictures on the board: ChatGPT can add reference pictures from direct image addresses it has, and Storyflow keeps its own copy. Your own drafts go in through the "Add your photos" link.

The shoot
Shots listed per chapter: Each chapter ends with a to-do list of the B-roll it needs. Add the lists up and you know the size of filming day before you pack.
A filming checklist: Batteries, cards, mics, the place and the props go on one card you tick on the day. For the next video, ask ChatGPT to read this board and build the same card on the new one.
Shorts planned with the video: Ask for three Shorts cut from the video, each with its hook and its source chapter. They are filmed in the same session, not hunted for in the edit.
Your stills in the frames: Ask for the photo link and send stills from your phone: up to 200 pictures, for 15 minutes. They fill the shot cards' empty frames as they arrive.

The editor
One board for both of you: The plan, the script, the B-roll and the dates sit on one board. Anyone a paid member invites joins free, so the editor works from the same plan you filmed from.
An edit brief beside the chapters: Ask ChatGPT for an edit brief card: the pace, the music, the graphics and two videos to match. It sits next to the chapters it describes.
Ask what changed: Ask ChatGPT what changed on the board in the last week and who changed it. It reads the board's history and lists what the editor added, moved or ticked.
A link for a sponsor: Share the board from Storyflow with a view-only link. A sponsor or a manager reads the plan in a browser with no account. To comment, they sign in.
Every template opens as a real, editable board on the infinite canvas. Pick the closest fit and make it your own.
Pull the brief, script, shot list, and moodboard into one pre-production hub so the whole shoot is planned in one place.

One app instead of five
Storyflow holds the plan for the video. vidIQ, also in ChatGPT's plugin directory as of October 2026, brings keyword and channel numbers into the chat. YouTube Studio still uploads.

What YouTubers ask before ChatGPT plans the next upload.
Yes. Give ChatGPT the idea, the viewer and the length, and it writes the promise, the hook, timed chapters, the B-roll each chapter needs, thumbnail ideas and a publish checklist. With the Storyflow plugin installed, it builds that plan on the video's board as columns your editor opens too, and writes the script as a document once the chapters hold.
Storyflow is our pick first, on one basis: it lays the whole video out on one board, from the hook and chapters to the B-roll, thumbnail ideas and publish checklist, where you and your editor work from one plan. Storyflow is our product. vidIQ, also in ChatGPT's directory, is the pick for keyword research and channel analytics, which Storyflow does not have.
Open Plugins in ChatGPT's sidebar, find Storyflow and open the listing by Storyflow LTD. Select Install plugin, sign in to Storyflow when asked, and choose which projects ChatGPT may use. Reading is always on; you decide whether it may also make changes. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, workspace and region, and in a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin can turn plugins on or off.
Seven parts: the promise in one sentence, title options, the hook written word for word, the chapters with a time on each, the B-roll each chapter needs, two or three thumbnail ideas, and a publish checklist. Add an edit brief if someone else edits. On a Storyflow board each part is a column, so a missing one is an empty space you can see.
Time the chapters, then count words. A voice reads about 150 words a minute, so a 12-minute video holds about 1,800 spoken words, fewer once B-roll plays under music. Give every chapter a time and add them up before you write the script. In Storyflow each chapter card carries its time, so the total is there for you and the editor to check.
Not from the board. Through the plugin, ChatGPT reads the board's words, not its pictures, so it cannot see a thumbnail draft there. It can write thumbnail ideas as one picture and a few words each, and compare them against the title. A thumbnail you attach in the ChatGPT chat can be discussed there, but it does not reach Storyflow by itself.
Yes, through an upload link. A picture attached in ChatGPT does not reach Storyflow. Ask ChatGPT for the photo link for the board and it replies with an "Add your photos" link that works for 15 minutes and takes up to 200 pictures from your phone or computer. They land on the board, or in the empty frames of your shot cards.
Yes, from a file on the board. Storyflow does not connect to YouTube, so export last month's numbers from YouTube Studio as a CSV and put the file on the video's board. ChatGPT reads up to its first 40,000 characters, so trim the export to the columns and videos you plan from, then ask which videos held viewers longest before it drafts the hook.
Through the plugin, ChatGPT cannot delete a card, read the board's comments, make pictures or create a share link, and a plan asked for twice lands beside the first. Storyflow has no calendar grid, so upload dates sit in a table in the order written. It does not edit, upload, schedule or publish video and shows no analytics: that stays in YouTube Studio.
The plugin uses no Storyflow AI credits, because it runs on ChatGPT's own model and your ChatGPT plan. A free Storyflow account that a paid member invited can make 25 plugin actions a week, reset each Monday (UTC). Plus, Pro and Max have no weekly limit. Storyflow is paid-only during early access: Plus is $7.99, Pro $14 and Max $39 a month, billed annually.
Yes. Invite your editor to the board from Storyflow; anyone a paid member invites joins free, and edits in real time. For a sponsor or a manager who only reads, share a view-only link, which opens with no account; to comment they sign in. ChatGPT cannot make share links, but it can tell you what the editor changed this week.
The board is the same; only the setup differs. Claude reaches Storyflow as a custom connector at https://mcp.storyflow.so/mcp rather than a directory plugin, and builds the same columns, script and shot cards. A creator on ChatGPT and an editor on Claude can work on one channel board. Storyflow's guide to planning a YouTube video with Claude covers that setup.
Only the ones you choose when you sign in: all your projects, or the ones you tick. Keep the channel in one project and give ChatGPT only that. Without changes allowed, ChatGPT can read a board but not build on it. Each connection ends after 30 days, and ChatGPT then asks you to sign in to Storyflow again.
