MIND MAPPING

Mind mapping with room
for every branch you grow.

Storyflow is mind mapping on a truly infinite canvas. Radiate ideas out from a central theme, drag branches to regroup them, and let the AI expand the ones worth going deeper on. Then turn the map into a real plan without switching tools. Free forever, no credit card.

What is mind mapping, and why do it on a canvas?

Mind mapping is thinking in branches. You put a central idea in the middle, grow the main themes out from it, and hang the details under the theme they belong to. Laid out in space, a topic you could not hold in your head becomes something you can see at a glance: what connects to what, where the gaps are, which branch is really the interesting one.

Most mind mapping tools lock that thinking into a rigid, auto-arranged diagram. It looks tidy, but the moment you want to add an image, drop in a research PDF, or reshape the whole thing, you are fighting the tool. Storyflow does mind mapping on an open infinite canvas instead. Every node is a real card you can move, recolor, edit, and group, so the map bends to how you think rather than snapping to a template.

The canvas also means the map does not have to stay a map. Ask the AI to expand a thin branch into ten sub-ideas, attach a video reference beside a node, or turn the strongest branch into a storyboard, a content calendar, or a project plan on the same canvas. The mind map becomes the first step of the work instead of a picture you screenshot and forget.

HOW IT WORKS

Build a mind map in four steps.

Start from a blank canvas or a single prompt. Either way the ideas stay yours to rearrange.

01

Open a free canvas

Start in the browser with a free account. Nothing to install and no card to enter, just an infinite canvas waiting for a central idea.

02

Drop a central idea

Add the topic in the middle and start branching, or describe it once in the AI chat and let Storyflow lay out the first set of branches for you.

03

Branch, regroup, expand

Drag cards to reshape the map, merge two themes with a move, and ask the AI to go deeper on any branch while the rest stays exactly as you arranged it.

04

Turn the map into a plan

Convert the strongest branch into a storyboard, content plan, or project board on the same canvas, share a view-only link, or export the map as an image or PDF.

Mind mapping that does not dead-end at the diagram.

Keep the branch-and-group thinking you know. Lose the rigid layout, the node cap, and the screenshot-and-forget ending.

Nodes are real canvas cards

A map you can actually reshape

Every branch is a card you drag, recolor, and regroup. Merging two themes is a move, not a redraw, so the map keeps pace with your thinking instead of locking it in place.

Go deeper on any branch with AI

Point at a branch that feels underdeveloped and ask the AI to expand it. It adds sub-ideas that connect to what you already mapped, using the current board as context, not a generic template.

From map to sequence

Branches become storyboards and plans

Pick the branch worth building and turn it into a storyboard, a content calendar, or a task board on the same canvas. The ideas carry over so you plan from your map, not from scratch.

An infinite canvas, no node cap

Mind maps sprawl, and that is the point. With a truly infinite canvas and no object cap on the free plan, no branch gets cut for space and the map never runs into an edge.

THINK IN BRANCHES

Built for the way mind mappers actually work.

Radiate out from a center, group what belongs together, and keep every thought visible at once.

Structure without a straitjacket

Freeform branches, not a fixed template

Branch any direction: Grow the map sideways, down, or in clusters. The canvas does not force a symmetrical tree, so the shape matches the topic instead of a preset.

Drag to restructure: Reparent a branch by dragging it. When your understanding of the topic changes, the map changes with a move rather than a rebuild.

Color and group: Recolor cards and pull related branches together so the important clusters read at a glance across a big map.

AI that reads the board

AI branches from what is already there

Expand on demand: Ask the AI to go three levels deeper on one branch. It builds on the nodes you already placed, so new ideas connect instead of drifting off-topic.

Bring in your sources: Add up to one Blueprint and three documents as context with an @-mention, so a research doc or brief shapes the branches the AI suggests.

Re-prompt to refocus: Ask for more practical angles, a tighter map, or a different lens. The AI reworks the branches while keeping the edits you made.

More than text on a node

Media and notes beside every branch

Drop in anything: Images, video, GIFs, PDFs, and links sit on the canvas next to the branch they support. A mind map with the references attached, not linked away.

Frame grabs from video: Pull stills from YouTube and Vimeo straight onto the map when a visual reference explains a branch better than a label.

Notes where you need them: Longer thinking lives as documents on the same canvas, so the map stays scannable and the depth is one click away.

Branch into real boards: Turn a branch into a storyboard, content calendar, or task board on the same canvas, with the AI carrying your ideas across.

Share the thinking: Invite collaborators free, or send a view-only link so anyone can explore the whole map in the browser without an account.

Export anywhere: Need the map in a deck or a doc? Export it as a clean image or a PDF in one step.

WHO IT IS FOR

Who mind maps in Storyflow?

Anyone whose best ideas arrive faster than they can arrange them.

Writers outlining

Map a book, essay, or script as branches first, then turn the branch that works into chapters or scenes on the same canvas.

Students studying

Map a syllabus, expand the topics you are weakest on, and pin lecture PDFs beside the branches they explain. Free, with no time limit.

Marketers planning topics

Map a niche into themes and angles, then convert the keepers into a content calendar and campaign boards without leaving the canvas.

Founders mapping strategy

Lay out markets, risks, and bets as connected branches, drag them as priorities shift, and walk the team through it with a view-only link.

Teams running workshops

Brainstorm as a group on one shared canvas, cluster the ideas into a map, and hand off a plan everyone can see the reasoning behind.

COMPARED

How Storyflow compares to classic mind mapping tools.

Plenty of apps draw a neat tree. The question is what the map can become once it is drawn.

One prompt gets me a structured board. But the tactics are my favorite. I run my YouTube scripts through them and my intros and retention got better. It's amazing.

I used to juggle five apps to plan a project. Now I describe what I am making and get boards, lists, and a schedule. All in one place.

A mind mapping tool helps you lay out ideas as branches around a central topic so the structure of your thinking is visible at a glance. Storyflow does this on an infinite canvas where every node is a real card you can move, edit, and group, rather than a fixed auto-arranged diagram.
