Using Pre-made Templates

Last updated: May 2026

Storyflow ships with 200+ expert-designed Tactic templates that let you apply a proven framework while you create. Instead of studying a framework separately, you learn and create at the same time.

Accessing the Tactics Library

There are two ways to open the library:

  • From a whiteboard: Click the Tactics button in the toolbar to browse templates
  • From the dashboard: Click "+" and select Tactic

Using a Tactic

  1. Browse the Tactics library by category or search by keyword
  2. Preview the Tactic to see what framework it teaches
  3. Select the Tactic to create a Blueprint of structured cards
  4. Click any card to flip it and read the framework guidance on the back
  5. Fill in your content while learning from the guidance
  6. Use AI assistance for framework-specific help on each card

Skeleton or example content

Templates arrive with the author's example content filled in, which shows you how the template is meant to be used and gets in the way when you only want the structure.

The gallery's use button has a Keep example content checkbox, unchecked by default. Leave it unchecked and you get the skeleton: the same walls, tables, columns and labels, with the example writing cleared out. Tick it to keep the examples.

It applies to every template — the ones that ship, the ones added later, and the ones you save yourself.

Tactic Categories

Tactics are organized by category so you can find the right framework fast:

  • Business: Business plans, strategy, market analysis
  • Storytelling: Story structure, character development, narrative arcs
  • Sales: Sales funnels, pitch decks, proposals
  • Marketing: Campaign strategies, content calendars, brand positioning
  • YouTube & TikTok: Content strategy, video planning, growth frameworks
  • Filmmaking: Pre-production, scripts, shot lists
  • Personal Growth: Goal setting, habits, learning systems
  • Branding: Brand identity, visual systems, brand voice

Learning While Creating

Each Tactic card has educational content on the back (click the info icon to flip it). AI inside a Tactic knows which framework you're using and which step you're on, so its suggestions are tied to that specific methodology rather than generic.

Pre-made vs Custom

Pre-made Tactics come pre-loaded with framework guidance and use a single document for the entire Tactic. Custom Tactics you build yourself use document-per-card mode for maximum flexibility.
