Theme & Board Config

Last updated: August 2026

Personalize how Storyflow looks and how new boards behave from User Settings → Board Config.

Theme

  • Light mode: Bright UI for daytime work
  • Dark mode: Reduced eye strain for long sessions
  • System: Follows your OS theme automatically

Toggle quickly with Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + D, or set your default in Account Settings.

The same control appears in Account Settings, the header flyout and the search modal — it used to be three controls that each behaved a little differently. Switching now changes everything at once, including the mobile chrome and toasts.

Naming your browser tabs

A browser full of Storyflow tabs used to be a row of identical titles. Each tab now carries the name of the board open in it, with a matching icon, whether you are signed in or following a share link.

Default Board Config

Defaults apply to every new board you create. Per-board settings can override these for any specific board.

  • Background: Dots, solid, or custom color
  • Snap grid size: Default snap interval for new boards
  • Default zoom level: What zoom % new boards open at

Default Dashboard View

Pick the default view for the dashboard — Thumbnails, Table, or Kanban. The dashboard will open in your chosen view every time.

Tips

  • Pair dark mode with the dots background for a focused canvas
  • If you usually work on tight layouts, set a small default snap grid
  • If you usually do brainstorming, set a larger snap grid or turn it off
