Snap Grid & Board Settings

Last updated: May 2026

Each whiteboard has its own settings — snap grid size, background style, default zoom behavior. Configure them per board to match how you work.

Opening Board Settings

Open Board Settings from the canvas controls (typically a gear icon). Settings are per-board so you can have a tight grid on a layout board and a loose one on a brainstorm.

Snap Grid

  • Grid size: Pick a snap interval — small for precise layouts, large for loose composition
  • Snap on drag: Hold Cmd/Ctrl while dragging to snap to the grid temporarily
  • Visible grid: Toggle the grid dots on or off

Background Style

  • Dots: The default, light dot grid
  • Solid: No grid — clean for presentations
  • Background color: Override the canvas background per board

Defaults vs Per-board

Your global defaults live in User Settings → Board Config. Per-board settings override your defaults for that specific board. New boards inherit your defaults.
