Offline Support

Last updated: May 2026

Storyflow is an online app — it requires an internet connection to function. There is no full offline mode. Here's what works and what doesn't when your connection drops.

What Needs Internet

  • Loading the app initially
  • Saving changes (Storyflow auto-saves to the cloud)
  • Real-time collaboration with teammates
  • AI features (chat, generation, image, analysis)
  • File uploads and image previews

Brief Disconnections

If you lose connection briefly while a board is already open, you can usually keep editing — Storyflow will queue your changes and sync them when the connection returns. A status indicator shows when sync is pending.

If You Lose Connection for Longer

  • Don't refresh the tab — refreshing requires the network
  • Wait for the connection to return; queued edits sync automatically
  • If sync fails, copy critical content out of the editor as a backup before refreshing

What's Next

A more robust offline mode is on our wish list. For now, plan around an internet connection. If you need to work offline regularly, let support know — it helps prioritize.
