AI Settings: Personalization & Knowledge

Last updated: May 2026

AI Settings let you teach Storyflow AI about you, your company, and the work you do, so every response stays aligned with your context — without needing to re-explain things in every prompt.

Opening AI Settings

  1. Open any AI chat (whiteboard, document, or dashboard)
  2. Click the tools menu in the chat header
  3. Choose AI Settings

Personalization

The Personalization tab lets you describe yourself: your role, what you create, the tone you prefer, and any baseline preferences for how the AI should respond. The AI uses this to shape every reply.

  • What you do (e.g. "documentary filmmaker", "B2B marketing lead")
  • Tone and voice (formal, casual, punchy, technical)
  • Output preferences (length, structure, examples)

Knowledge Entries

The Knowledge tab is where you store reusable, named pieces of context — things like brand rules, audience insights, product positioning, voice guidelines, or non-negotiables. Each entry has a title and body and can be enabled or disabled.

  • Create: Click "Add knowledge", give it a title, write the content
  • Enable / disable: Toggle entries depending on which project you're working on
  • Edit and search: Update entries any time; use search to find one quickly in long lists

Tips for Effective Knowledge

  • Keep separate entries for separate concerns — voice, audience, brand colors, do-nots
  • Be specific. "Audience: technical founders, ages 28–45, skeptical of jargon" beats "smart people"
  • Disable entries that don't apply to a project to keep responses focused
  • Combine knowledge with @mention context for the most grounded answers
