Reordering, Splitting & Merging PDFs

Last updated: August 2026

A PDF already on your board, or attached to a message, can have its pages worked on. Put the file where the AI can see it — drop it on the board, or attach it to the message — and say what you want done.

What it can do to pages

  • Reorder — put the pages in the order you name
  • Delete — drop pages you do not want
  • Rotate — 90, 180 or 270 degrees, on the pages you name
  • Insert — put pages from another PDF into this one, at a page you choose
  • Split — cut one document into several, up to 32 files
  • Merge — join other PDFs onto the end of this one

"Drop pages 4 and 5, then rotate the last page."
"Split this deck into one file per section."
"Merge these three PDFs into one, contracts first."

What it cannot do: the words

Page operations never change a word inside the document. A PDF's text is glyphs pinned at fixed positions, not paragraphs, so there is nothing to reflow — no tool can retype a sentence in a finished PDF and keep the design around it.

If you need the wording changed, the AI will say so and offer the alternative: read the text out and author a new PDF from it. That gets you the words you want, but the original's design will not survive the trip. For something you expect to keep editing, work in a Storyflow document and export it.

The original is safe

Nothing here edits your file in place. Every operation produces a new file and leaves the one you uploaded exactly as it was. A split cannot replace a single card on the board, for the obvious reason — several files cannot fit in one card — so the parts land beside the original.

Use Cases

  • Pull the three pages you actually need out of a 60-page supplier PDF
  • Merge signed pages back into a contract in the right order
  • Rotate a batch of scanned pages that came in sideways
  • Split a deck into one file per section before sending them to different people
