The AI panel follows you into a document the same way it follows you onto a board, and works on the document you have open.

Point it at a passage

Highlight text in the document and it attaches to your next message as context. The AI then works on that passage rather than on the whole document.

Attached context shows as chips on the composer and as cards on the message once sent, so what the AI was actually handed is visible rather than implied. Removing one by accident can be undone before you send.

This is the tool for surgical edits: refine one paragraph without disturbing the rest.

Changes are applied, not proposed

Earlier versions showed a diff view with green additions and red removals, and asked you to accept or reject before anything was committed.

That is gone. The AI writes the change straight into the document, and undo reverses it — one step for the whole turn, however much it rewrote. In practice this is faster than reading a diff, and it is the same control you already use for your own edits.

Formatting survives

Headings stay headings, emphasis stays emphasis, and a table written as markdown becomes a real table. A note moved in from the canvas keeps its text exactly, with no model round trip to garble it.

What else it can do in a document

• Write a new section, or expand and tighten an existing one
• Set a cover on the document, and place pictures inside it
• Read PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, CSVs and images you attach to a message
• Leave review notes on the document, each jumping you to the passage it discusses
