AI Colour Palettes

AI Colour Palettes

Last updated: August 2026

Ask for a palette, a colour scheme, brand colours or swatches and the AI lays them out as a grid on the board in one step.

"Give me a warm autumn palette for this campaign."
"Pull the palette out of this photograph."

Each swatch shows its colour, the name the AI gave it, and its hex and RGB values — those two are rendered from the colour itself, so they are always right and never need writing into the name.

Reading colours off a picture

Attach an image and ask for its palette. The AI reads the colours out of the picture and builds the grid from them, which is usually closer to what you wanted than describing a mood in words.

Why it comes as a grid

Colours placed one at a time land in one long row running off the canvas. A palette is a block, so it is built as a block — the tool owns the grid.

The swatches sit loose on the canvas rather than inside a wall. If you want the colours inside a wall, ask for that specifically.

The other shapes with colour in them

  • An orbit rings swatches around a central label with lines drawn out to each — the film colour-palette look.
  • A moodboard is images first, with colour as part of the mix.

If you just want the swatches, the plain grid is what you want, and it is the commoner request.

Use Cases

  • Extract a brand palette from a client's existing material
  • Build a warm and a cool option side by side before choosing
  • Get hex values on the board so nobody has to ask for them
