Starting From a Template in Chat

Starting From a Template in Chat

Last updated: August 2026

You do not have to open the template gallery. Name what you are doing and the AI searches the templates we ship — Film Plan, Shotlist, Storyboard, Agency Hub, Moodboard, Second Brain and dozens more — and starts you from the closest one.

"Start me a film plan for the trainer commercial."
"Use the agency hub template for this client."

What applying does

The whole template lands on your board in one go with its exact layout — every wall, card, colour and connection where the template puts them. Applying it is a single undo step.

Then the AI reads the board back and rewrites the cards for your subject.

The worked example is meant to be replaced

Our templates ship carrying a worked example — Film Plan arrives as a North Face climbing commercial. That content is a starting point, not decoration, and leaving it in place is worse than never applying the template at all, because you are handed a stranger's production.

The AI works through the board after applying and rewrites every card that names the example's subject. If you spot one it missed, say so.

It will not do this behind your back

A template is only applied when you asked for that template, or agreed to start from one. The AI never drops one speculatively onto a board that already has your work on it.

Use Cases

  • Start a production board from a shape that already works
  • Get an agency client hub set up without assembling it wall by wall
  • Try a template on an empty board and have it rewritten for your project in the same turn
